Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a tour?
Please call or email our office to schedule your tour. Due to the nature of our wedding venue, we typically cannot accommodate tours on Saturdays, unless they are early in the morning. If you are a family or individual, we require at least a 48-hour advanced reservation. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-up tours.
Do you require a deposit?
No! A deposit is not required when scheduling your group; however, we do ask that you fill out our information form and have EVERY member of your group sign a waiver prior to arrival (we'll email these forms to you!).
How many people can you accommodate at one time?
We've done groups as large as 110 students, but groups of this size require up to 2 hours to complete. In order to finish your tour in 1.5 hours, we cannot accommodate more than 60 students (including chaperones), OR 50 adults at one time.
Do you allow us to take pictures?
Absolutely! If you wish to share your photos on social media, please use #McKellarFamilyFarms!
What should I wear?
We always recommend wearing close toed shoes, however it's not required. During the summer, we suggest lighter clothing for the hot temperatures, as well as a hat and sunscreen. During winter, we suggest warmer clothing and gloves for the cooler temperatures.
How much walking is involved?
Very little. We meet you in the parking lot and will load you onto the wagon ride to begin the tour. Once the wagon ride is done, we will walk a short distance to our Glass Barn to continue. The path to the Barn is paved. Guests will also need to climb 3 large steps to board the wagon.
Is there a gift shop, or do you have souveniers for purchase?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a gift shop or any souveniers available for purchase.
What happens if it rains, or if it's extremely hot?
Rain is not a frequent flyer around here, however in the event of rain, we will keep a close eye on the weather and let you know as far in advance as we can if we need to reschedule!
In the summer months it's common for the area to reach upwards of 100 degrees. It's best to do tours earlier in the morning, however we're willing to do them in the afternoon as well. Again, it's based on your preference. In times of extreme heat/poor air quality, we will reschedule your tour.
Is there food or beverage available for purchase?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not have food or beverage available for purchase. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle with you.
